That Traveling Bug Bit Me. Again

I've wanted to learn French for as long as I can remember.  I'm not sure why I didn't take it in college.  I took Italian, and being that I knew a decent amount of Spanish, I now speak a fairly fluent mixture of the two. Ughhh, so annoying.   But back to French.  It's the most beautiful languageI've ever hear.  When I was younger I remember being at an airport and not wanting ot leave the terminal where a French couple were just sitting there talking.   And when I finally got to go to Paris a couple years ago, I thoroughly enjoyed using the few phrases I knew to get about the city. And being that France is just so darn beautiful, my most recent of goals is to master the language and then take a tripto test it out.  Now, my question is, has anoyone tried Rosetta Stone, and does it work....

Flowers n Sunshine

My weekend was spent in the garden and it was amazing.  I found gorgeous flowers at our local nursery, and they put in mind of being in an English garden.  Our back yard area is small, so all spaces had to be utilized, but I think we did pretty well.   Peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers, squash, watermelon and a few other goodies were planted and I can't wait to be eating all their yumminess.  How was your weekend?

Cooler Than Me

As far as I'm concerned, Lindsey Thornburg's clothes are the stuff dreams are made of.  When I wrote about her last year, I was just discovering her amazing fashions, and as time has passed I've only grown to love her designs all the more.  Her pieces embody this sort of effortless "cool" that I think all girls long to immitate.   It's all about being different, and unique.  Her cloaks and dresses flow so effortlessly from hippie chic to a modern princess, it's no wonder they appeal to such a large audience.  As usual, her cloaks are my absolute favorite and I can't even tell you how in love I am with her summer line.  They are movie star worty, and I can't help but imagine wrapping up in one on a chilly night time boat ride or for a brisk morning walk.

And as enchanting as the cloaks, are the dresses and jumpsuits.  I feel like they're something I would have worn as a child while playing in the woods and picking wild flowers.  But they're sexy.  How are they so sweet yet so sexy?   I can't help but dream when I'm browsing through Thronburg's collections, but something tells me, she wants it that way.

And if you'd like yet more...

Summer Cozy

Cozy.   What comes to my mind is being curled up by the fire, sipping hot tea, and watching the snow fall through frosted windows.   We all know I'm a big fan of being "cozy".  But is it possible to stay cozy in the summer? I most certainly believe so!  Below are my summer essentials for staying cozy when temperatures are blazing.  And besides, I think the true definition of cozy is being utterly content.

Nothing is like hanging out on the water in the summer.  Being on boats is cozy in itself, and I can't think of a better way to enjoy the sun.

Reading outside is the best.  And my favorite is snuggling up in a blanket on a summer evening and reading till it's too dark to see.
As tea is my go to in winter months, water is my go to in the summer.  I am obsessed with cucumber water, but have found everything from a simple slice of lemon to muddled raspberries make water that much tastier.
Romance is best when temperatures are steamy and dresses are off the shoulder.

Late night, candle-lit meals.  Preferably with amazing seafood.  My latest obsesssion is oysters, and this looks like the best dinner everrrr.

Star gazing and constellation spotting.

Watercolors and Drawing Pencils

I really miss drawing and painting and this is going to have to change.  I found the sketches and watercolors above and am now completely inspired!  Although I definitely wouldn't call myself a talented artist, I love to be creative, and I can't believe how long it's been since I've picked up a pencil or paintbrush.  It makes me miss high school, when art was a class, and something that was done on a regular basis.  Funny how being a 20-something means you have to remind yourself to do the things you love.

Such a Babe

How gorgeous is Penelope Cruz?  In case you need to be reminded, check out the spread she did for Vogue.  I now want to sport beach hair, freckles, and a wardrobe of white.
