Such a Vibrant Thing

I've often marveled at color's ability to alter one's mood.  Looking at the greens and purples of Van Gogh's Irises that hangs above my bed is instantly comforting.   When I wear my Vamp nail polish from Chanel, I feel beyond sophisticated.  And putting on my favorite hot pink sweater almost guarantees a good day.

When I stumbled upon these photos of Morocco, I was overcome with wanderlust.  Do you ever get that urge to travel?  To see places you've never seen, taste foods you've never tasted, meet people you've never met?  Yeah, I'm experiencing that right now.  And these photos provide just enough color and beauty to satisfy my need for all things foreign.

Cashmere Cured Me

When I started typing this post, I started out with, "Today was *such* a Monday."

Today, was in fact Tuesday.  But that is wonderful example of how my brain has been functioning as of late.

Today I needed a little pick me up.  And although I have really made a valiant effort not to use retail as my therapy, I caved and bought the prettiest camel colored, cashmere sweater.  It cheered me completely up after a long day at work followed up with a hot and sticky run (just wasn't feeling it today, folks.)  I'm already dreaming about all the ways I can wear it this autumn.

Smoking Slipper Perfection

I'm ready.  So beyond ready, I can't stop planning outfits.  Match-stick jeans and pretty little loafers.  Oversized wool sweaters and classic riding boots.  Chunky scarves, cashmere mittens, fur vests - oh I'm beyond ready for fall attire.   These lovely little smoking slippers are the *perfect* fall shoe.  I love the richness of the hunter green velvet and the intricate embroidery adds a lavish touch that makes these shoes worthy of a princess.  I've been coveting a pair of Stubbs and Woottons for a a while now, and I'm thinking that these are meant for me.  After all, these shoes feature an Arabian horse, the shoe gods are making it very clear these beauties belong on my feet.

Back at Home

After an absolutely amazing weekend in Nashville, it's taken me a whole week to get feeling back to normal - and in all honesty, I'm not quite sure I'm there yet (I'm blaming it on the moonshine.)  As reality slowly resurfaces, I am having a hard time wrapping my head around the fact that it's August.  Not just August, mid-August.  Can someone please tell me where time goes?   Wherever it's off to, it's in a hurry to get there.    With this realization of just how fleeting moments really are, it has made me appreciate the small stuff.  Below are some things I'm either wishing I could indulge in or am going to make a point to experience before summer is over.

Word of the Day

I have a weekend in Nashville planned with some of my favorite bunkies.  I'm hoping, actually KNOWING, we will be experiencing lots and lots of hygge.   Some of the 'hygge' might not necessarily be 'calm' but, close enough... ;)
