The Prettiest Dresses of the Year

Chanel Iman and Tom Ford

If there is one formal event I could go to, it'd be the Met Gala.  Starlets show up in the absolute prettiest dresses and this year is no exception.  As I sit on my couch, perusing Vogue.com, I'm blown away by the dresses stars have chosen this year.  They're so artful and unique and, I'm just drooling.

Chanel

I'm not one of those people who obsess over celebrities.  I might obsess over their collection of handbags or their flawless skin, but I rarely think about who they are as a person.  With model Chanel Iman, it's a little different.   She's one of those people who just seems fun.  She's always smiling and goofing around, and never taking herself too seriously (a demeanor I find beyond refreshing for a model.)   When I watched the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show this year, she was always the one jamming out to all the songs, and despite her jaw-dropping beauty, she sort of seems like one of your girlfriends you'd go out and drink Martinis with on random Tuesday nights.    Seemingly awesome attitude aside, Miss Iman has amazing style as well.  Below are some of my favorite shots of her, including her February 2012 cover of L'Officiel.  How amazing does she look and those colors just make me want spring.  Below are other common Chanel style bits that I think we could all try.

  • Bright lipstick with an otherwise black/gray/white ensemble take a look from so-so to wow.
  • Sequin leggings ara amazing with a white tee and simple leather jacket.
  • Never ever shy away from colors or prints - no matter how bold or bright.
  • Experiment with makeup and color (especially around the eyes - I don't have many good shots of it on here, but often times Chanel has on amazingly colorful eye shadow).
  • Being quick to smile is so beautiful, as Chanel proves.
  • Funky, boho accessories are amazing with bright colors - don't be worried about overdoing it, just go for it.

Can I Be You?

This time of year, my head is off somewhere else, and as much as I hate to admit it, I'm daydreaming a good 80% of the time.  Mostly about being in warmer climates and wearing amazing clothes (surprise, surprise, right?)  Below are photos that I wish I could just magically transport myself  to, for just a day.  Editorial photos tell stories and it's so fun to think about what these ladies are doing.  As silly as this sounds, it's quite fun to do.  If you're bored and love fashion as much as I do, try it.

She is obviously about to go into Chanel and shop.  Then go to some amazing party, because why else would she have on such a breathtaking dress?  And she's in LA. I freaking want to be in LA.

Flowy, flowy white!  How fun would that dress be to wear?  With that hat?  So innocent, so easy it's the perfect spring look.

My most devoted readers will know that this is my second time using this image - but it's so breaktaking, how could I not?  I think it's pretty obvious why I'd want to be her.

Looking that glam wading in the water is a gift.  She has it, I want it.

Natalia, I'd be you any day.  But when you're wearing such pretty prints and are surrounded by flowers?  Well, it's a lot like a dream.

I just want eye makeup that cool.  And shoes that funky.  And a dress that sexy.  And a ponytail that flouncy.
