...Isabel Marant....

If you're a hot young hollywood starlet, chances are you're wearing Isabel Marant.  If you're a fashion-crazy, non-rich 20-something, you're wanting to wear Isabel Marant.  Her pieces are completely effortless and cool, and lately, every single thing that has made me say "Oooh" or "Ahh" has been by this talented desinger.  Her slouchy boots are what originally caught my attention, but it looks like her clothes are equally captivating. When it comes to runway fashions, I always initially oogle over the lines that I'd obviously wear.  They are what always catch my eye first.  For instance, this year's Diane von Furstenberg S/S 2012 line - I would wear every single piece in the collection - much in the same way it's styled.  But as amazing as the DVF collection is, it's not my favorite.  My favorite (thus far) for the Spring/Summer 2012 collections, is hands down Derek Lam.  It evokes a feeling so strong, it's nearly tangible, and I can't help but think I've left 2011 and am lounging poolside, Palm Springs, circa 1970.   Not that this look is retro - it's more timeless and fresh, with hints of a yesteryear. 
It's obvious not I, nor the average girl, could pull off this whole look - the strong brows, masculine details, and slicked back hair are more for models like Aggy Deyn, not girls like myself.  But picking up on these details is key, and I'm going to be adding bits and pieces of this line into my every day.  Take a look below.

...Oui, Oui, Fashion Week in Paris...

Are you guys sick of Fashion Week yet?   Me neither.  In fact, I've been rather devoutly pouring over all things Paris Fashion Week and the show that has left me most mesmerized would have to be Stella McCartney's.   It's sleek lines, and minimalist looks stood out in a see of complicated elegance.  But that's not to say McCartney's line was lacking in oppulence.  It embraced the glamour that has come to define F/W 2011, but in a clean, experimental sort of way.  I loved the voluminous sleeves, the simple colors, and boxy blazers.  And the sweet little polka-dots, how could I not mention those?! It puts me in mind of a Picasso painting - a little theatrical and exaggerated, but a look distinctly it's own. 

Still So Sexy @ 90

While my heart has been in London for the past week, I wouldn't have minded popping down to Milan for a bit either. Specifically to enjoy Gucci's 90th anniversary show.  Luxe fabrics in jewel tones, sexy feathered fedoras, plunging necklines, thigh-highed slits, and hints of python and patent leather made one fact perfectly clear - over the top glam is back for good. 

Tips to take from Gucci's Ready to Wear F/W 2011 Line:

• Pussy-bowed blouses that are sweet n sexy.
• Mix unusual colors (like ochre and pumpkin orange? Genius.)
• Feather, fur, patent leather - all things over the top.
• Thin belts to cinch the waist.
• Wide legged trousers that give a 70's feel.
• Looks that are perfectly tailored with amazing attention to detail.

Pretty Kate

I just had to share this because, well, Kate Bosworth looked breathtaking while attending Burberry's show.  Ugh, get me something studded, STAT.

Take me to London for Mulberry, Please.

So my fairy godmother came to me last night and granted me three wishes. I politely asked....

Wish 1:  Take me to London.
Wish 2:  Get me into all the fashion shows.
Wish 3:  Give me everything in Mulberry's Fall/Winter line.

Shoot, that was just a dream.  But it's pretty easy to see why Mulberry's F/W 2011 collection could leave a girl mesmerized.   We'll start with the scarves.  The oversized checks in the coolest of colors (purples, golds, grays) and they're so big, they just look cozy.  The whole look of the collection is part glamour girl, part outdoorsy chic (note the fishing pants and shooting jackets), a combination that I'm not sure has every been pulled off quite so effortlessly.  Mulberry's creative director Emma Hill described the season's inspiration: "She's a gorgeous girl living in a dilapidated country estate, popping outside for a cigarette."

The fushia and teal that snuck it's way into the collection look fresh amidst the grays and camels.  It's pure magic the way that pleats, quilted patterns, and oversized gold buttons and detailings take this look beyond elegant without being overtly sexy.  And I haven't even mentioned the bags.  The gorgeous, to-die-for bags every model was lucky enough to carry as she took to the runway.
