...I See a Little Silhouette...
I stumbled upon these dreamy little prints on none other than Pinterest (that site has introduced me to so many amazing things, I can't give it enough credit.) I loved the mix of whimsy and goth - something classic mixed with something a little bit darker. I could see several of these prints lining a hallway. Or perhaps adding a little dazzle to a dressing room. They're adorable, and something about them is just so chic. They are by Charmaine Olivia, a model turned artist that I can't help but want to be a little bit like. She oozes creativity and her carefree style is one I highly admire. She's also a *self-taught* artist, which, completely blows my mind.

Have A Whimsical Valentine's Day
Happy Valentine's day to all my wonderful readers! Here's hoping your day is filled with all the stuff that makes Valentine's day so sweet. This has always been a holiday I've enjoyed, whether I've been single or not and I think it's because something about love is very magical. When I stumbled upon these illustrations by Jessie Marion King, I found that they embodied a sort of romantic charm that fit perfectly with Valentine's Day. The Scottish artist's work was published mainly in children's books and although there is something inherently innocent about these paintings, they are complex enough that I don't necessarily find them childish. The soft colors and woodland scenes are absolutely dreamy, and as crazy as this sounds, I'm completely obsessed with the attire of the women. The flowy dresses, sparkly veils, and flowered crowns are worthy of any fairy tale.

...Jordan Askill...
When I look at jewelry I go for the unique. I have several pieces that I love to wear because they grab peoples attentions - not because they're uber expensive or sparkly, but because no one has seen them before. So when I got to browsing online jewelry, there was a certain designer that I just fell in love with. Jordan Askill's designs are completely ingenious and the detail to craftsmanship is staggering. I for one always compare fashion to art, but this truly is like wearing a sculpture.

Luzinterruptus
In September of last year, the beautifully colored umbrellas were placed on piles of dirt in the city to represent a sort of farewell to summer. It also represents how the bustle of the city can at times make one feel chaotic and at other times feel downright festive.
Plants were placed in plastic containers and come to life thanks to the help of some eery green lights. Placed on an old building's side, the art is showing the need for more greenery in city spaces.

Watercolors and Drawing Pencils
I really miss drawing and painting and this is going to have to change. I found the sketches and watercolors above and am now completely inspired! Although I definitely wouldn't call myself a talented artist, I love to be creative, and I can't believe how long it's been since I've picked up a pencil or paintbrush. It makes me miss high school, when art was a class, and something that was done on a regular basis. Funny how being a 20-something means you have to remind yourself to do the things you love.
