Ready for a Holiday

Lately I've been completely consumed with thoughts of beaches and bikinis.  I normally get this way around Mid-January and become instantly depressed when I realize there are still months of winter left.  However, there is hope, and it lies in the form of holidays to sunny destinations.  This upcoming weekend I'm heading to Florida and although the weather is going to be by no means hot, it will be warm, and I'm excited to bust out my Toms and venture outside in no more than a sweatshirt.   I apologize for this post in advance, I really do.  I held off on doing it for a week now, because in all honesty there is just too much winter ahead to get too excited about shorts and sundresses.  However, it's never too soon to start planning (and even mentally packing) for your next holiday.   Here's what I was thinking...

At the Chalet

I headed over to Net-a-Porter yesterday and had one of those experiences where I made myself step away from my laptop.  This week's e-magazine is "Chalet Chic" and to say I have been craving ski-worthy sweaters would be the understatement of the year.  I went into Abercrombie and Fitch yesterday and left smelling of horrid cologne and gravely disappointed that all their sweaters looked... well, too "Abercrombie".  On my way home today I stopped at the Ralph Lauren outlet and was equally disappointed in the selection.  There were a few that were "okay", but who wants to buy something "okay"?   My third and final strike out was picking up my mom's copy of Gorsuch.   Yeah, you bet I found about ten sweaters I loved, but alas, not a one was under $700.   So you can imagine my horror/excitement when finding this Chalet Chic collection.   But I think a couple of these might be Christmas list-worthy and if nothing else provided some great inspiration as to what it is I'm looking for.   Below were my favorites and I even managed to find some other gems at different online sites.  Which would you choose?

Better Window Than Door

Sweaters are a wardrobe staple I gravitate towards.  They're cozy, can be dressed up, worn billions of ways, and I'm always bummed to put them away for the summer months.  But alas, this problem is solved with one of spring's hottest trends - open weave sweaters!  They're delicate, and the perfect companion to white tanks and maxi skirts.  Or denim cut-offs and pretty bras.  Or sultry sundresses and gladiator sandals (am I proving how versatile these beauties are, or what!?)  They're the perfect go-to when summer evening get brisk but not cool, and can be worn this annoying time of year when we're all wanting to dress for spring but temperatures are still freezing (because they're perfect with layers.)  Get a feel for the look below....
