Wedding Bells

Kate Moss married longtime beau Jamie Hince in a ceremony on the English countryside this past weekend.  Donning a breathtaking Galliano gown, Moss was completely glowing, as is evident from the photos that captured the event.  PS check out the dress she was wearing the eve of her wedding (pictured below.)  Examples of why she will forever be my style icon.

I'ma Copy You

Quite frankly, one of my pet peeves is straight up copying.  I hate when someone buys whatever the mannequin in the store is wearing, but I must admit, I'm ready to duplicate this look in it's entirety.  So beyond perfect for summer, here are the trends that must be tried asap.
  • Long braids
  • White on white for a breezy, summer feel.
  • That BAG!  Oh, my heavens, that bag, will be dreamt about.
  • The abundance of silver jewelry.
  • Beaded necklaces that give off a tribal feel.
  • A killer tan.

Luzinterruptus

Art that surprises is the art I look back on and remember.  When I came across designers and artists Luzinterruptus, and saw the meaningful street art they produced throughout the streets of Madrid I was completely mesmerized.  They use lights as their medium, and create amazingly beautiful imagery that goes much deeper than simply being pretty.  Below are some example of what they have created and the messages their sending out to the people of Spain.

The photos above are all about preservation.  Encapsulated by glowing umbrellas, tiny animal figurines are place among illuminated foliage.  The message is clear and captivating.

The photos above signify how garbage baskets on the streets of Madrid are like stranded ships in the ocean.  They are stranded between the bustle of the city, and the tide can never quite reach them to take them back out to sea.

These are all poems that were apart of a poetry contest held in Madrid.  This was a magical way to display all of the entries, and were offered to the public as keepsakes.  The artists also wanted us to remember how letters and poetry used to be sent in the mail.

In September of last year, the beautifully colored umbrellas were placed on piles of dirt in the city to represent a sort of farewell to summer.  It also represents how the bustle of the city can at times make one feel chaotic and at other times feel downright festive.

Plants were placed in plastic containers and come to life thanks to the help of some eery green lights.   Placed on an old building's side, the art is showing the need for more greenery in city spaces.

The Cozies

DKNY has always been a brand I've loved.  The designs are classic, the clothes are excellent quality, and the pieces I've bought I've worn for years.   Recently, thanks to Twitter and an extraordinarily talented tweeter, I've taken note of the brand even more.  For those of you that are on Twitter it's essential that you follow the DKNY PR girl (@DKNY) who has taken tweeting to a whole other level.  She has become the voice of the brand, and with close to 350,000 followers, she's delivering fashion news in way that has never been done.  You get a behind the scene look at what it's like to work for a huge fashion house (because how many little girls dream of moving to the city and living their own version of "The Devil Wears Prada"?)  She gives advice, responds to tweets, and makes you want to check out all things Donna Karan.  With her snarky wit, fabulous fashion sense, and genuine tone, it's no wonder she has such a following. Browsing her tweets one day, I saw she mentioned something called the "cozy".  I looked it up on the DKNY website, and cozies are about as fabulous as they sound.  They're cadigans that are long and flowy, and can be worn a plethora of ways.  They come in a long sleeved, vest, and short sleeved, and I hear that they are working on a dress version.  They're available in a rainbow of colors and are made of cashmere and silk, so how they acquired their moniker is no surprise.  I'm hooked.

Coming Up Rosie

Rosie Huntington Whitely looks so breathtaking in this months issue of Elle UK, I couldn't not post these photos.  Although her beauty is overwhelming on all levels, I think my favorite thing has to be her golden, beautiful, voluminous hair.  This is a hair look that needs to be mastered.

Braided Beauties

One of my favorite looks during the summer has to be braids.  Whether they're halo-like crowns encircling the head, or a simply fishtail off to the side, I can't think of a simpler way to get hair off your face without sacrificing style.  Unfortunately braids are not my forte, and I'm still trying to master the french braid and the fishtail.   Below are some looks that I'll be trying to duplicate.
