Swedish Candy

I love nothing more than discovering a beauty from decades past and ogling over her killer style.  My latest find is Swedish actress Ewa Aulin.   Baring a striking resemblance to Brigitte Bardot, this beauty has a style all her own.   Part babydoll chic, part Egyptian princess, I'm in love with her unique take on 60's fashion.

Picking Up What She's Putting Down

Just a Tease

While I struggle to breath in this extremely humid, hot air, I can't help but fantasize about autumn, and naturally, the gorgeous clothes that come with it.  Luisa Spagnoli's fall campaign is exactly the imagery I'm craving as summer's enchantment slowly dwindles, with every passing, sticky day.  Featuring model Charlotte Cordes, these looks are so perfect for fall.

The Plastics

I love Los Angeles. I love Hollywood. They're beautiful. Everybody's plastic, but I love plastic. I want to be plastic.

Andy Warhol

The plastic, fake, over-the-top side of fashion.  It's there.  We are reminded every time we open up the pages of Vogue.    It's what runs through our heads when we glance at a model and think, "Just how little does she weigh?" or "Just how much airbrushing was done to get her face *completely* poreless." We can't help it.  We wonder what's real.   How close can the average person actually get to looking that flawless?  Instead of letting such thoughts consume me, I prefer to take in the beauty of it.   The flawless, decadent, unrealistic perfection, it's enough to inspire.  Below are ultra-glam pieces, fit for a Barbie.

Life Right Now

Here are some shots that have either inspired me this week, or are describing my life (in a nutshell of course.)  It's that weird time of summer where I'm nostalgic to keep living the lake life and getting a tan, but there's also this creeping desire for autumn, which I am currently trying to suppress.

My latest fashion inspiration is Francois Hardy.  Her fresh faced, easy style is amazing.

Entertaining myself indoors with air conditioning and only the essentials.

I want to to go to thrift stores and flea markets!  And find vintage jewelry as great as Brigitte's.

I still dream about Kate's vintage leopard coat, first spotted a few years back.  Think I'll find anything as wonderful this fall?

I've been looking for a jumpsuit with a plunging neckline.  And this is exactly what I'm wanting!

Living off iced tea and other summer staples like tomatoes and watermelon.

...Jordan Askill...

When I look at jewelry I go for the unique.  I have several pieces that I love to wear because they grab peoples attentions - not because they're uber expensive or sparkly, but because no one has seen them before.  So when I got to browsing online jewelry, there was a certain designer that I just fell in love with.  Jordan Askill's designs are completely ingenious and the detail to craftsmanship is staggering.  I for one always compare fashion to art, but this truly is like wearing a sculpture.

A Kanye and Christine Collaboration

Christine Centenera's unbelievable sense of style is hard to ignore.  She plays with shapes and colors better than anyone.  Rumors have been swirling that the Australian beauty (who is also the fashion editor of Harper's Bazaar Australia) will be teaming up with none other than Kanye West to launch a new woman's line early next year.  I'm unbelievably excited and expecting great things.   Mixing Kanyes over the top glitz, with Centenera's quiet edge should be an amazing combination.  Get a load of her unique and beautiful look below.

WHAT WE CAN EXPECT

* Funky details - think studs, patent leather, fur.
* Mixing and matching the unexpected - and loving it.
* Drool-worthy shoes (high heels only, duh).
* Structured pieces mixed with soft basics.
* Pops of color, but nothing overwhelming.
* Light denim - Christine rocks it like no other.
