Almost 100% Norwegian

Yesterday while perusing Pintrest and Tumblr I took a break from fashion and decided to look up places to travel.  I stumbled across pictures of Norway and wanderlust instantly got the best of me.  Being that I'm almost 100% Norwegian (key word almost) I couldn't help but be drawn to these beautiful photos and get lost in the fact that my great grandparents grew up in a place that stunning.   I can't wait to travel, and this will be one of my first stops when I finally start to see the world.  The Northern Lights, fresh seafood, gorgeous mountains, quaint villages - sounds like perfection.

How do you dress up your office space?

The other day my dear bffer Brookie asked that I do a post on a work appropriate bags.  This got me to thinking - how many accessories do we need for work to keep ourselves not only organized but to add a little style to our everyday?  It's actually quite a few, and below are some of the essentials that every girl needs for a day at work.

We got our first snow last night!  And although it's incredibly damp and will probably be mostly gone by noon, I can't help but get excited over it.

A Dash of Glamour

Perhaps it's the fact that I don't go out quite as much as I used to (anyone else miss college?)  Or maybe I'm not traveling enough.  But there has been a distinct lack of glamour in my life.    I'm happy to be working, and I like the steady pace of my life, but alas, a little sparkle needs to be added.  And although I might not get to go to any fab dinner parties anytime soon (a'la Charlotte Casiraghi, above) I think little changes will do the trick.  I'll update next week and let you know how it goes.   But here are the ways I'm thinking of adding some elegance to my daily routine.

• Keep my nails freshly mani'd.  I just bought Chanel Nail Lacquer in Quartz.  It's so pretty.
• Take time to listen to music.  This used to be my meditation and I don't do it nearly enough.  Time to change that.  
• Extra long dinners (with wine.)  At least once a week dinner needs to be drawn out - good food, good convo, good vino.  Perfect.
• Wear some sparkle.   If I'm bored with my wardrobe, adding a pair of pretty earrings or an elaborate necklace can change my whole mood.
• Light candles.  And I just don't mean the candles on my coffee table I light nightly - I mean the sconces I have throughout my house. It's the quickest way of cozying up a space.
• A new 'do.   I want to perfect the fishtail.  And get back out my curling iron.  I've fallen back into using curlers exclusively and it's a yawn.  Time to switch it up.

An Autumn Outfit

This weekend I was back at my parents' home in Lake Geneva and I felt like I finally got to enjoy fall.  We went on lots of walks with our new pup, visited an orchard, and got to see old friends.   Although many trees had lost their leaves, I still think this is the most gorgeous time of year.  And what better to accompany the cooler weather than some cozy outfits.  I'm completely in love with sweaters, and I would love to dress one up like the picture above.   Below is an outfit I'd love to give a go.  The dramatic skirt, the amazing knit, the fingerless gloves - it's a little bit of heaven in the form of an outfit.

Cozy in November

If you are an avid reader of my blog you will notice two patterns (other than fashion in general)  and that's being cozy, and changing seasons.  I've decided to combine the two in a "cozy" post I will do at the beginning of each month.   Finding cozy inspiration in November is going to be particularly easy.   It's all about embracing winter, and the upcoming holidays and I couldn't be more excited.
